I know you all probably know your sun sign already, from checking which part of the year your birthday falls in and which sign that matches. But does anyone know what your birth card is?
Your birth card is a bit like your sun sign, or your rising sign. It can help you understand what kind of person you are, and your strengths and weaknesses. Sometimes the cards also show a principle or lesson that person should know and use in life. Finding your birth card isn’t hard at all. You only need simple adding and subtracting. Most people have 1–2 cards, but some can have as many as 3, depending on their date of birth.
How to find your birth card
- Write your date of birth as numbers, using the Western (Common Era) year, e.g. 21 Sep 1987
- As numbers: 21 09 1987
- Year in the Thai Buddhist calendar? Subtract 543: 2530 – 543 = 1987
- Your date of birth: 21 09 1987
- Split the numbers into pairs of 2 digits, e.g. 21 09 1987 becomes 21 09 19 87
- Add the pairs together: 21 + 09 + 19 + 87 = 136
- Then keep adding the digits together until you get a single digit. Along the way, if a result is between 1 and 22, remember that number.
- If it’s a 3-digit number, add the first 2 digits to the last digit
e.g. 136 gives 13 + 6 = 19 ** remember 19 - If it’s a 2-digit number, add the first digit to the last digit
e.g. 19 gives 1 + 9 = 10 ** remember 10 - Keep adding until you get a single digit, e.g. 10 gives 1 + 0 = 1
- If it’s a 3-digit number, add the first 2 digits to the last digit
- All the numbers between 1 and 22 are your birth card numbers. Here they’re 19, 10 and 1, so your birth cards are card 19 (The Sun), card 10 (Wheel of Fortune) and card 1 (The Magician).
