Birth Cards 17 and 8: The Star and Strength

Cards 17 and 8

To reach a goal that’s both big and high, you need a firm, determined and focused mind. Starting with confidence and not being afraid of mistakes matters just as much.

People with 17 and 8 always like to have a goal. Whatever they do, they always have ideas and a plan in their heads. They also have good morale, and always give themselves hope when things go wrong. They’re determined, firm and focused on what they do, and ready to adapt to reach the goals they’ve set.

That inner firmness shows on the outside too, making them serious and self-confident. They also mean what they think and follow through on it, and don’t give up easily however hard the obstacle.

But sometimes people with 17 and 8 set their goals too high, so high they can seem over the top or a bit too much of a dream. And sometimes their determination can stop them from accepting reality, so they get fixated on a goal or a hope that can never come true.

Sometimes it comes out as stubbornness: so sure of their own ideas that they won’t listen to anyone, and sometimes even trying to persuade others to think what they believe. At worst, they may pour in body, mind or even all their money until they have nothing left, for something that may or may not be possible.

Setting high goals and having hope for them isn’t a bad thing. But people with 17 and 8 may need to understand that when the goal is high, the investment and effort are high too. In the real world, there’s no way to reach a goal on hope alone. Stubbornly holding on to the impossible can make you waste time and other resources for nothing. Making yourself accept reality is something people with 17 and 8 should understand and try for themselves.

Having goals in life is good, but it’s much better if we can make them real, with determination inside and action grounded in reality.
